Cuneo region Odonata

Welcome to CuneOdonata, the website about dragonflies of the Cuneo region (North Western Italy).

Dragonflies are an important bioindicator and they allow us to monitor the environment and particularly waterbodies health. CuneOdonata originates from a great passion for dragonflies and from the pleasure to explore natural areas looking for habitats suitable to the different species. Two are the purposes: to improve knowledge about odonatological biodiversity of this little part of North Western Italy and to increase sensitivity about these insects so to keep safe the areas where they live, often in danger because of human activities.

A few words for non-Italian speaking visitors

Our site was written mainly in Italian (see cuneodonata.jimdo.com), but we translated it gradually. This was a hard work, because none of us had never tried such a translation before. We apologize for the mistakes you will find and invite you to tell us how to improve it: for any comment or question contact us on paolocaroni3[at]gmail.com.

We had an important help in many pages by Lorenza Piretta: to her go our special thanks.
